“W” Stands for “Win” vs. Wellesley in Boys Hockey Action!

In an exciting game Wednesday night, the Boys Varsity Flyers debut was more than strong with a hat trick from Senior Captain Jake Mackinnon. Down by one after the first period (1-0), the Flyers appeared to emerge from the locker room on fire. Just 17 seconds in the second period sophomore Kyle Caso, assisted by Kevin Parker and Aaron Acorn, put the biscuit in the basket to tie the game. The heat increased on Wellesley with a goal in the 2nd by Jake McKinnon, assisted by Alex Bogovich – a sweet wraparound move. Wellesley tied it up 2-2 at the end of the 2nd period. With pressure applied from penalties Framingham successfully killed, Jake McKinnon got his 2nd goal of the game – shorthanded – with Kevin Parker blocking the shot from the point. Jake went in on the breakaway and buried the puck, giving the Flyers a 3-2 lead and the game winner. McKinnon finished the game with an open net goal and a first Flyers victory of the season. Great effort by the entire team and in particular goal tender Al Lynch who served in net for all three periods, making several key saves during shorthanded shifts. Flyers take on Weymouth Saturday night. GO FLYERS!
